While the WRCNU “Baby Chick” Mascot (Jordan, Diane, Keven & Sage) danced and waved people into the parking lot many volunteers were inside to meet, greet and give tours. The WRCNU Board of Directors and many energetic volunteers were kept busy throughout the 3-day event giving personalized tours of our public displays and providing an overview of our mission and purpose as well as explaining and “showing off” the non-public areas through computer generated and pictorial virtual tours of the facility.
After getting an idea of what the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah was all about, visitors spent the remainder of their time going through self-guided tours of the educational displays, the live baby owl/baby squirrel video cam, silent auction items, children’s crafts, face painting and visiting with the WRCNU education handlers during the live raptor programs.
We look forward to next year being twice as big which means we will have our hands full. If you missed this year’s Open House, we hope you will make plans to come visit us in 2012 during our 3rd Annual Wildlife Baby Shower & Open House!
